Director of Lunch and Learn

Jacquette Frazier is the founder of Lunch and Learn. She has organized events to support underserved elementary school children and youth in Takoma Park. In 2013, she became the director of the program. She has worked directly with the youth and also managed volunteers.  She is always looking to do everything needed to provide positive experiences for everyone and has even assembled a library of donated children's books. Jacquette also assists with after school programs, and helps organize back-to-school events at Essex House to provide kids with backpacks and school supplies for the coming school year.

Assistant Director

In 2013, Doris Duarte served as President of the New Hampshire Tower Tenants Association, Youth and Senior Committees, Lifelong Takoma, Village of Takoma Park, and other organizations. She met Jacquette Frazier at a meeting with Curtis Watkins regarding organizing activities for the youth of Takoma Park and later at a Senior Meeting sponsored by Village of Takoma Park.  

In 2014 Doris Duarte was selected as the Assistant Director for the Lunch and Learn Summer Program. She is Jacquette’s right hand in coordinating the camp which includes the youth from Hampshire Tower Essex House Apartments, City of Takoma Park, and Silver Spring.  Doris and Jacquette work during the school year to organize the six month summer camp each year.
