It’s Open Enrollment Season for Affordable Care Act Health Insurance!!
The Affordable Care Act offers quality affordable private health insurance for many individuals and families. Enrollment can be done online through the Maryland Health Connection. To advance the community goal of increasing access to health care, CHEER has contracted with Montgomery County, in collaboration with the Capital Region Health Connector, to conduct outreach and education to uninsured individuals and families from the Latino and African Immigrant populations in Takoma Park and Long Branch. CHEER has added 4 new Community Outreach Specialists who live in these communities to its team, bringing the total to 8. They are hard at work conducting targeted outreach services to these populations to aid in the enrollment of hundreds of uninsured community members by the open enrollment deadline of February 15, 2015.
If you don’t have health insurance, have questions about the Affordable Care Act, or are having trouble shopping for a qualified health plan, please attend one of our scheduled outreach events to have all of your questions answered. We will be at the TESS Center, 8513 Piney Branch Rd. Silver Spring, MD 20901 on 1/27/15 from 3-8pm, 2/3/15 from 3-8pm, 2/4/15 from 6-8pm, and 2/10/15 from 3-8pm.
