Apply to be Lunch and Learn's Administrative Assistant!

 

Position Summary

CHEER is seeking Administrative Assistant for its six week Lunch and Learn summer program. The Lunch and Learn program provides daily transportation to and from the facility, breakfast and Lunch, tutoring in math and reading and recreational swim time for the participants. This year’s program is scheduled to run Monday through Friday for 6 weeks (June 25th to August 3) 8:30AM to 3:00PM.

This position requires the employee to be under the supervision of the Director of Lunch and Learn and the Executive Assistant.

Duties and responsibilities (include, but are not limited to)

  • Organize, coordinate and schedule a variety of office activities to assist the Director or Lunch and Learn and/or Executive Assistant with administrative tasks

  • Maintain variety of reports, records and files relating to students, staff, as directed by the Executive Assistant  

  • Serve as Administrative Assistant to the Director of Lunch and Learn and Executive Director, compose routine correspondence memorandums independently, type and distribute communications provided by the Director of Lunch and Learn and Executive Assistance to the staff and students.

  • Provide information concerning school policies, procedures, actions, activates and schedules as appropriate school calendar and serves as a coordination of events.

  • Maintain professional manner when interacting with campers, parents, colleagues, and subordinates.

  • Training will be required regarding staff orientation and curriculum prior to employment

  • Make photocopies

  • Conduct other assigned tasks as needed

 

Qualification

  • Must be currently enrolled in High School or a High School Graduate

  • Be able to use various computer software (Microsoft, Excel, PowerPoint etc…

  • Typing skills must be proficient

  • Bilingual is a plus, but not required

  • Good oral communication skills, and customer service

 

Compensation

This is contract position which expires on August 03, 2018. No medical benefits will be provided.  Individuals in this position will gain valuable experience, sharpen skills, give back to the community, and meet new people.

CHEER is the fiscal agent for Lunch and Learn.​

 

Takoma Park Lunch and Learn is a community based summer enrichment program for underserved youth.   It provides daily transportation to and from the facility, breakfast and lunch, tutoring in math and reading, and recreational swim time for the participants. It also offers sports, arts and crafts, and weekly local guest speakers and leadership and community service instruction to middle school and high school youth with training and volunteer opportunities.
